You are met on arrival at Nairobi international airport by our VIP meet and greet service. A representative will escort you through immigration and customs to your driver, who will transfer you to the Nairobi domestic airport for your light aircraft flight west to the Masai Mara. Light aircraft flights are great adventures in their own right and if you're lucky, you can even spot wildlife from the air as you fly in.

You will be met on arrival at your airstrip in the Masai Mara and a representative of your camp will drive you to your luxury accommodation where you will stay for the next four nights. After lunch you can venture into the bush on your first safari activity, as you begin your search for Africa's iconic Big 5.

Enjoy your first full day on safari in the Masai Mara, a world-renowned wildlife reserve and one of the best 'Big 5' safari regions in all of Africa. The range of camps inside the reserve and the outlying conservancies make the Masai Mara a fantastic option for first timers, migration followers and experienced safari lovers alike. Most safari camps and lodges include shared day game drives and nature walks as the core safari activities, and some camps also offer night game drives, more comprehensive walking safaris, riding safaris and hot air balloon safaris. These are all wonderful optional extras which our friendly Africa team are happy to arrange to personalise your safari experience. 

Another full day on safari in the phenomenal Masai Mara. The Mara is a fantastic year-round safari destination with especially clear game viewing in the long dry season from July to October, and beautiful touches of green to the scenery in the shoulder and rainy seasons. The Great Migration typically occurs in the Masai Mara during the long dry season, making this a traditionally excellent time to go on holiday in Kenya.  

Enjoy your final full day on safari in Kenya's Masai Mara. An interesting fact about the Masai Mara is that it contains one of the highest densities of lions anywhere in the world and yet you can see the Maasai tribesmen grazing their cattle in the surrounding land. You'll gain first-hand insight into the conflict that occurs between humans and wildlife, as cattle and predators roam side by side.

This morning you have time for your early morning walking safari or game drive before you are driven back to the airstrip in time for your scheduled light aircraft flight. You'll arrive in Nairobi in the early afternoon, where you'll be met and transferred to one of our favourite nearby restaurants to have lunch and relax. In the afternoon you'll be driven to Nairobi's international airport for your direct flight to Zanzibar. You'll be met on arrival in Zanzibar airport and driven the short distance to Stone Town, where you'll stay for two nights in a luxury hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.

Today is a free day for you to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stone Town at your leisure. A couple of great options we love to recommend are a locally guided walking tour through the maze of alleyways and colourful bazaars, a trip to Prison Island, or a half day visit to Mnarani Turtle Sanctuary to see the giant tortoise. We can pre-book any tours to ensure you get the most out of your time in Stone Town. 

This former spice trading port is filled with a melting pot of cultures with Swahili, Persian, Arabic, European and Indian influences. Discover the ancient stone houses, beautiful mosques, carved wooden doors, and Arabian archways. There are several cultural places of interest including the Portuguese Fort, the old Dhow Port, the Old Slave Market, the Sultan's Palace, the House of Wonders, Livingstone House, the Hamamni Baths and the Persian Baths of Kidichi.

This morning you'll check out of your Stone Town hotel and will be driven across the island to your beach resort on the stunning east coast of Zanzibar. You can take a tour to see the local spice plantations on your journey from Stone Town to the east coast. A spice plantation tour lasts about an hour and it's a great introduction to Zanzibar's world famous exotic spices and their significance to the Zanzibar islands. After your optional tour, you'll arrive at your luxury accommodation by the beach, where you'll stay for six nights on a half board basis. 

Relax and enjoy your first full day on the tropical beaches of Zanzibar. Spend the day lounging on the soft white sand, swimming in the sparkling turquoise waters, or sipping cocktails and coconuts by the pool. 

Your luxury accommodation will have a range of facilities including a sumptuous spa with massage and wellbeing services, gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis courts, nearby golf course, and a water sports club offering exceptional snorkeling and diving trips, as well as sailing, wind surfing, paddle boarding and kite surfing.

Spend the day relaxing at your leisure, or venture through the island to discover the incredible range of adventure activities on offer. You can go mountain biking, bird watching, hiking, stand up paddling through the mangroves, wind surfing, kite surfing, sea kayaking, sailing, or head off an incredible snorkelling or diving excursion through the island's stunning coral reefs. You can spot huge shoals of dazzling fish, green turtles, playful pods of dolphins, and at certain times of year you can even swim with whale sharks.

Zanzibar has plenty of day trips and excursions to occupy your time on the islands. Take a tour of Prison Island, visit Mnarani Turtle Sanctuary, tour the spice plantations, or venture in to Jozani Forest, home to the Red Colobus Monkey. You can go on reef and dolphin safaris, take a traditional dhow trip through the mangrove forest, or experience a cultural exchange in the local villages. 

Spend the day in Jozani Chwaka National Park, one of the last remaining sanctuaries in the world of the Red Colobus monkey. The forest is full of incredible wildlife including sykes monkeys, bush pigs, Ader's duiker and suni antelopes, elephant shrews, chameleons and lots of birdlife and butterflies.

Spend your last full day on Zanzibar relaxing by the beach, exploring further around the island, or getting out on the water to enjoy the sunshine and marine life. We recommend enjoying your final Zanzibar sunset with an unforgettable experience on a sundowner cruise aboard a traditional dhow.
