January to early March brings warm, sunny weather with little rain and is a great time to visit the southern Kenya coast.The rainy season runs from mid-March to late May with the coastline becoming very hot and wet, and we recommend avoiding the southern Kenya beaches during this time.
The wet season is followed by the long dry season from July to early October, which is a fantastic time for both a Kenya safari and a beach holiday. October to mid-March offers the best conditions for diving and you can expect great underwater visibility and warm water temperatures. There’s a chance you’ll see Whale Sharks from February to March, while Humpback Whales migrate along this coast from the end of June to December.
